The Personal Side of Bias, Prejudice, and Oppression Throughout this course, I have been sharing many personal incidents experiencing bias, prejudice, and oppression. This time I asked my 17-year-old son if he experienced any bias from others or of which he witnessed. He said that he still remembers his first-grade teacher when she used to not deal fairness with him when it comes to giving opportunities and choosing leaders in the classroom. Even though my son was successful and had the principle’s honor roll award. Also, he mentions other teachers that did not give him attention and were trying to ignore him when he asked to participate in some activities that he was interested in throughout the school year just only because of his skin color and race.
