From the website Harlem Children’s zone, there are many interactive links and options that can keep an interested individual on the website for hours. Certain links will lead users to pictures taken at training programs, pictures of children benefiting from the program, and also pictures of the huge vicinity of the program placed on the support of children. One of the links led me to the “Three Year Old Journey”- a 12-week program that enables parent’s access to important information on child development, in the classroom and at home. It hosts many workshops for parents, helping ease their transition for their children from toddlers at home to striving students in preschool. The section also hosts many pictures and even videos of these workshops, some even demonstrating the workshops and the topics they cover. New information I have received this time around is more statistical than last time. While the site had claimed to help many children last year (2017), it has now sent me actual numbers.  In the year 2017, a staggering 27,573 children and adults benefitted from this program, with a phenomenal rate of 100% passing for those testing into preschool. This information I previously had no way of knowing.
            
The website does cover equity when explaining its treatment of students of all races. Although most of the recipients of the benefits are African Americans, the program still shares equity towards all. In fact, it only shares so much membership with African Americans because those who need the aid in the affected regions are mostly African Americans; yet the program also helps Caucasian children and all other types of ethnicities. This taught me that equality of treatment is not changed based off of location, gender and ethnicity only when institutions are led by mindful leaders. In many cases, the leaders of organizations will favor those that are the same ethnicity, religion or gender. However, that does not benefit anyone and only slows down child development.  What I learned about childcare is that at times problems revolving around the children’s background must be addressed. This does not give consent to any racist or prejudice thoughts, yet any problems in the student’s home which negatively affect his/her life must be addressed and dealt with to the best ability of the teacher. However, even this has a limit as not everything can be addressed, such as divorces at home where the teacher cannot offer assistance to the child in any way. However, overall the teacher should try to think beyond the classroom, especially when lack of child development becomes noticeable.

    I also am following The Harlem Children's Zone. I am so taken with the organization as a whole, as they work within themselves and ensure that the work they do with the students is reflected through the community. As we know there is no me "I" in team. we know that it means that no one person is better then the next or the one that comes after. The ultimate goal is to able to standup for the children that need it most, from bullying to 100 % class graduation. It show that a community is the starting point for the children to have positive examples.

Global Fund for Children “ We support education from children’s earliest years to secondary school and on through university or vocational training.”    ( The Global Fund for children) The website has the same agendas in the field of education for the youth. Through working together to help end the lack of education, the fund focuses on beating poverty and similar issues through education. It sees education as a means of success, as we do here as well within the course. In order to be successful and be better off than their families, the children are provided with tools for education. Once this education is received, they can get out of the poverty and shambles they are currently in. For us, we can help students here do the absolute same.
