Your Personal Research Journey How children’s well-being hindered by Poverty Children are our future! Every child deserves to have all needs by having healthy development in all areas such as cognitive, social, emotional, and physical that will create a successful path to have well-being for children. Poverty hindered children from well-being by the lack of access to education and poor health; these caused challenges to children to maintain a healthy start to life and education. Poverty and health are strongly linked. When children suffer from disease because of lack of health insurance, treatment, and health facilities this will deny children from having a healthy start. Improving children’s health is the key to well-being. On the other hand, children get affected by their families’ economic status and employment. In the United States, one child in every seven will be born into poverty even though the U.S. is a rich nation. However, the childhood poverty rate is ac...

Professional Goals, Hopes and Dreams

Professional Goals, Hopes and Dreams   The early childhood field was as any other field or job in my insight. I was a parent to children who attended Head Start program that changed and added a positive impact on my career.  The support I got from my children's’ teachers who encouraged me to be a part of the teaching staff because I have my degree in education as well from overseas. This encouragement and support made a change in my career later which led me to study early childhood development. I found out how it’s very vital for children to attend schools from an early age and I found myself having passion in the Early Education field. After a few months, I joined them to be a teacher at my children’s previous school. That teacher was the key that opened a new opportunity for me and for my children as well. She showed me how we are as teachers can make a difference and have a positive impact on our children and parents as well. In the media sigma, Dalila Vasquez menti...

Sharing Web Resources

Sharing Web Resources From the website Harlem Children’s zone, there are many interactive links and options that can keep an interested individual on the website for hours. Certain links will lead users to pictures taken at training programs, pictures of children benefiting from the program, and also pictures of the huge vicinity of the program placed on the support of children. One of the links led me to the “Three Year Old Journey”- a 12-week program that enables parent’s access to important information on child development, in the classroom and at home. It hosts many workshops for parents, helping ease their transition for their children from toddlers at home to striving students in preschool. The section also hosts many pictures and even videos of these workshops, some even demonstrating the workshops and the topics they cover. New information I have received this time around is more statistical than last time. While the site had claimed to help many children last ye...

Excellence and Equity in the Early Childhood Field

Working Globally Throughout my reading of the Working Global website, I found out how every organization works to create a new opportunity for children to develop in healthy development in all areas. Working with and for children is creating a great feeling by seeing children grow, develop, meet, and reach their needs. Also, how supporting child development can have a positive impact on children's' life and will multiply children’s effort in the areas of development as well. Every child deserves to have an opportunity to grow up in a healthy environment which will protect children from many issues that can pull them back and keep them behind as well as to achieve all areas of development. Children need advocators to keep and fight for their rights. Physical, Mental, and social well-being for children is the principle for healthy development. Ensuring good health, developing skills, and engagement are what needs to be the focus on to enhance the long life for childr...

Global Fund for Children “ We support education from children’s earliest years to secondary school and on through university or vocational training.”    ( The Global Fund for children) The website has the same agendas in the field of education for the youth. Through working together to help end the lack of education, the fund focuses on beating poverty and similar issues through education. It sees education as a means of success, as we do here as well within the course. In order to be successful and be better off than their families, the children are provided with tools for education. Once this education is received, they can get out of the poverty and shambles they are currently in. For us, we can help students here do the absolute same. On the website, it says that “we advise, mentor and guide our partners”. This is a bit shaky because it does not look like this is a relationship of partners. Personally, this global fund is the hand on the top; the ...
