Jobs/Roles in the ECE community: National/Federal Level Throughout my searching for different early childhood national/federal organizations and agencies that appeal to my professional a passion I found these : 1- Zero to Three Their Mission and Vision “Our mission is to ensure that all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life. At ZERO TO THREE, we envision a society that has the knowledge and will to support all infants and toddlers in reaching their full potential.” I chose this organization that began in 1977 based on their excellent resources, and they are providing collaborative work and effort to parents, families, and professionals. They believe that how they do their work is as important as what they do. “By embracing our values, every member of the ZERO TO THREE community contributes to a healthy and positive culture, a more successful organization, and better outcomes for infants, toddlers, and their families.” Also, they v...

Exploring Roles in the ECE Community: Local and State Levels Looking for communities of practice is a good start that helps me to know more about all the different services that are available for children and families. These agencies are providing many different services that parents and advocators need to move forward to achieve their vision and goals in their particular cases. The first agency that I will discuss is Children’s Residential Intensive services. The Children’s Residential Intensive services (chRIS) is a full services partnership program implemented by DBH in close collaboration with child and family services (CFS). This agency is a mental health clinic that provides children with different services based on their needs. Also, it is providing the ser...

Special Thanks The communication and collaboration course is a motivated learning opportunity which I need to use to improve my communication skills as a leader in early childhood setting. Also, it has helped me to reflect on my self-awareness, knowledge, and understanding. Every topic leads me to know how I can make a change when it comes to negative matters and issues to be positive by applying and using what I learned. Some of these learning tools such as thinking before I talk, how to engage others in a positive way to communicate and how to share the power to build trust with others which will make them engage by communication and collaboration. Thank you for everyone for their sharing new ideas, addressing important issues, replying to questions, adding new insights, engaging, and collaborating to have a successful learning environment. This positive attitude that you guys have encouraged and motivated me to look forward to your posts and blogs ...

Adjourning Being an educated team who works together to achieve more of what they plan is a blessing. I still remember two years ago when I joined a team to do a project about how to have boundary families in our program. Even though we face many difficulties together by passing duties and giving everyone work on different tasks of the project, but we worked hard to succeed. We change many roles to make it work for an individual based on their ability and skills. After a few mounts, the team started to success by sharing, respecting, and taking more responsibilities to create a positive working environment. Our attitude toward each other change to feel like we are family members on the same boat. By the end of the project, our relationship was getting stronger which it was hard for us to imagine that we were going toward the end. To adjourn our year, we commit that we will continue to work together for more future projects. We decided to celebrate our...

Nonviolent communication and conflict Management At workplace we celebrate different activities and occasions for children and staff throughout the year. Three years ago, a new teacher joins our school. She doesn’t want to participate in these activities at all. Every time she has an excuse which is these activities are not required for the job. So when we have a meeting she always would bring up this issue that she is not part of these activities which excludes herself from the group by not sitting with us at lunchtime, not chatting with anyone. This behavior bothers the other teachers who are working at this site for more than twenty years and who get used to doing a lot of fun activities and celebration. Those teachers love to make the work environment motivated and feel like home. I took the initiative to talk to the new teacher to explain the benefits of doing these activities for the children and their f...

Who Am I as a Communicator? For my first test which is communication anxiety inventory my score and the others as well came with the same result which is “I feel a bit uneasy in some communication situation and somewhat more confident in other contexts. Communication does not seem to be something that you worry a great deal about.” For my second test which is verbal aggressiveness scale I scored differently from the others. My result is “ is with little provocation, you might cross the line from “argumentativeness,” which attacks a person’s position or statements, and verbal aggression, which involves personal attacks and can be hurtful to the listener.” The other result is “I maintain a good balance between respect and consideration for others’ viewpoints, and the ability to argue fairly by attacking the facts of a position rather than the person holding that position.” For my third test, which is listening to styles profile, I received different scores which is “...

Communication in Culture Communicating and understanding others based on many perspectives from their own culture will create and build that bridge of communication and will open more ways to communicate. Finding ways to connect and communicate with others could be throughout knowing your audience’s background and culture to be aware of some communication tips and some verbal and nonverbal communication, to be able to achieve some goals and extend the communication. Keep an open mind, and having some knowledge about others’ background and culture will help to build a good relationship. Personal space that makes others feel more comfortable and more able to express themselves which will end up to cause effective communication. Self-Presentation to others to know who I am and ask them to present themselves as well so to inform and evaluate each other to have a good start. Practicing active listening will he...
